STAAR Surgical to Webcast Investor Presentations at American Academy of Ophthalmology's Annual Meeting

MONROVIA, Calif., Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of implantable lenses and delivery systems for the eye, today announced that the Company will webcast its presentation at an Investor Breakfast Meeting on Saturday, October 18, 7:00 a.m. CT at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Erik Mertens, Medical Director and founder of the Medipolis Eye Centre in Antwerp, Belgium, will present his first cases with the new Preloaded ICL System.  He will also present clinical data on two years of follow up on nearly 800 Visian ICL implants with the CentraFLOW technology.  Robin Hughes, V.P. of Research and Development, will provide updates on the V6a ICL which is designed to delay the need for reading glasses as patients become of presbyopic age.

Barry G. Caldwell, STAAR's President & CEO, will offer a general overview of the Company's current operational developments and upcoming catalysts.
